Pets Make the Best Maids of Honour
A new trend we have been seeing more of in Perth is the inclusion of the bride and groom’s beloved pets in the wedding ceremony. At the recent Joondalup Resort Wedding Open day we were asked to quote for a Flower Collar for the bride-to-be’s pet dog. Of course every bride and groom wish to be surrounded, on their wedding day, by their nearest and dearest and those they love the most. Who wants to be without their best friend on this day of days? This does occasionally include beloved pets.
We’re passionate about transforming special events with distinctive bouquets, and were able to share a few memorable moments when Bupa Pet Insurance asked our advice on ‘How to Involve Cats and Dogs in Weddings‘.
Having worked with countless lovely couples in Perth, many of whom are devoted pet owners, we were able to offer Bupa a few tips for those engaged couples who want to bring along their four-legged friend to their wedding – and even include them in the ceremony.
We believe that pets can make excellent additions to your wedding. As long as your cat or dog is well-behaved and you have someone on hand to keep an eye on her while you are saying your vows, animals can make a magical addition to your special day.
We’ve had quite a few requests for adorning pets with flowers to make a ceremony that much more special. We’ve worked with cat owners, dog owners, and have even created an exquisite floral crown for a rabbit! We have to say, a fluffy white rabbit with a crown of flowers makes a wedding ceremony appear extra sweet, not to mention the fabulous photo ops that abound.
While we are all for having pets as a part of your special day, we do recommend using fake flowers for your cat’s collar or your dog’s decorative lead. While fresh flowers are wonderful – and should be a part of your wedding for the fragrance and ambiance that they evoke – they’re not the best option for pet adornments. This is simply because some animals may nibble at their beautiful accessories; you don’t want them to eat the flowers!
With plastic floral decorations for your pet, you are sure their beautiful accessories won’t be ruined and you won’t have to worry about your pup’s upset tummy while you are walking down the aisle.
